Mitxoda started with music.
Then came a Weekly about the strange world surrounding it.
Then artists started sending me their songs.
I started writing about some of them.
Playing others.
Building ways for listeners to discover, vote and even play.
Without really planning it, a collection of small projects became something else.
A place for independent music.
Not another infinite catalogue.
Not another algorithm deciding what you should hear.
A small, deliberately human ecosystem where music can be thought about, discovered, listened to, supported, played with, and submitted.

I listen to submissions and regularly select three tracks from three different independent artists that I think deserve a little more attention.
No endless catalogue.

A few words about why they caught my attention.

Le Salon Indie
Two hours of independent discoveries.
Sometimes I want to tell you the stories behind the music.
Once or twice a month, the Salon becomes a fully hosted radio show, in French: artists, context, discoveries, connections and my voice guiding you through the journey.
And another two or three times a month, I simply open the doors.
No hosting. No interruptions.
Two hours of carefully selected independent music.
Different experiences.
Same principle:
Every track is there because I chose it. Thanks to You.

Independent music, ranked by its listeners.
I can discover the music. I can review it. I can play it.
But I shouldn’t have the final word.

Or simply introduce me to an artist I didn’t know yesterday.
Submission doesn’t guarantee coverage.
Human curation wouldn’t mean very much if it did.
But every discovery has to begin somewhere.
Six doors. One idea.
Think.
Discover.

They might look like six different things.
I don’t think they are.
An artist creates something.
Someone discovers it.
Someone listens.
Someone thinks about it.
Someone supports it.
Someone tells somebody else.
Another artist hears it and decides to create something.
And the cycle starts again.
That’s the Mitxoda I want to build.
Small enough to remain human.
Curious enough to cross genres, borders and scenes.
Independent enough to occasionally do things that make absolutely no sense to an algorithm.
