Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda — Episode 40
January 30, 2026
There are nights when everything flows.
And there are nights when live radio reminds you who’s really in charge.
This 40th episode of Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda was one of those beautifully imperfect moments. A small microphone issue toward the end genuinely broke the rhythm, the kind that steals a few words, a warning, a transition you meant to share. The joys of live radio. No safety net, no rewind button. Just presence. And honesty.
But maybe that’s exactly the point.
About love. About doubt. About why artists keep going.
Let’s talk about the love for music that all indie artists share.
Not the polished love. The stubborn one.
Let’s talk about that difficult path leading to the final decision:
Is this song ready? Is it good enough? Is it honest enough to let it go?
Let’s talk about the struggle every independent artist faces when trying to translate something deeply internal into sound. That fragile effort to make the invisible audible.
What many call “classic” or “acceptable” is often just a safe frame built from habit. Artists, on the other hand, take risks. They share. They expose. And sometimes, they let the audience decide for them.
Because artists are more than “creators” or “content creators”.
They bring LIFE.
They bring humor.
They bring disruption.
They bring LOVE.
They fill missing parts in other people’s lives.
They offer surprises, solidarity, and support.
The real fuel of art
An artist’s fuel is not an algorithm.
It’s the look in someone’s eyes.
A comment.
A disagreement that sparks discussion.
A hand waving hello.
A quiet “thank you”.
The power that comes from an audience is infinitely stronger than any number on a dashboard.
Artists will remain. Their art will live on, in one way or another.
But what truly lasts is the message.
And silence doesn’t mean nothing happened.
Silence means someone listened.
Read.
Felt.
Paused.
Even once.
Art sometimes works in seconds. Sometimes in centuries.
In both cases, it is essential, even for those who try to constrain it, frame it, or control it.
Artists survive everything.
Because they know their real message lives in how others will carry it forward, unevenly, imperfectly, to the next generation.
So keep art alive.
Keep artists as builders of futures.
Even if it’s only for a few people.
That is enough.
Welcome back to the Salon
After the intro by TURN BLUE and their beautiful new track Scenes of Doubt, I invited you once again into my living room. Batteries replaced. Dimmer back on. The light softened.
And yes, toward the end, the microphone failed me. I couldn’t warn you properly before those six intense minutes delivered by Urstaat. That’s live radio for you. We adapt. We continue. We smile.
Because imperfection is part of the deal.
This episode carried instrumentals, world premieres, first radio plays, whispers, noise, intimacy, and raw energy. From delicate moments to crushing intensity, from familiar voices to new discoveries, the Salon stayed true to what it has always been: a place to listen, not to scroll.
40 weeks. And still opening the door.
This marks 40 consecutive weeks of opening this Salon to independent artists from all over the world.
Keep sending your music via mitxoda.be/submit, four simple steps, your MP3, and the story behind the track. Released or unreleased, both are welcome.
I listen to every submission.
I reply to every artist.
I talk about every track in the Weekly.
And when something truly resonates, it finds its way onto the radio.
This adventure exists thanks to incredible people, across continents, who believe in music first, not metrics.
To everyone listening, sharing, supporting, and coming back week after week: thank you.
You are the reason this Salon exists.
See you next week.
