“Music is the language of emotions.” – Immanuel Kant
Whenever I rehearse with friends, or catch my kids singing in the living room, I feel it — that weightless spark. The way sound can anchor you in the moment and let the rest of the world fall away.
When arranged just right, notes can heal, awaken, provoke — or simply keep you company. Whether with lyrics or without, there’s always a message hiding between the lines. Maybe not the one the artist intended — but that’s the beauty of it. You hear what you need.
In this episode, I want to take you far from here. On a global trip across moods, genres, borders. We’re not chasing truth — just sharing something real.
Let’s start with something hauntingly surreal. Pinhdar, a duo from Milan blending trip-hop and dark-wave, set the tone with Cold River. They formed back in 2019, and their sound feels like a dream you’re not sure you had — or haven’t had yet.
And just before that, I opened with a track of my own — Patience.
Welcome to Episode 5 of Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda.
We head to New Zealand next, where Shedheads let loose with the raw, electric Loathing.
Then we drift west to the Americas. From Idaho, Bob Houghton offers the bittersweet ambition of Rock Star, while JoDan Music in Texas lights up the night with Backyard Bonfire.
We stay in that hazy Americana glow a bit longer with Bobby Ray and his aching ballad, The Preacher’s Daughter.
Then, back to the UK — The Haze keep the road trip going with The Trip Ain’t Over. And neither is ours.
Now let me tell you a story — one that started on Discord, of all places. Inside the OTAT247 server, where creators connect, I met Tim Rodman, aka TimTmMusic. He was looking for someone to sing a track he’d written and produced entirely on his own.
I responded. He sent me the lyrics and the track. No rules. No pressure. I recorded a first version and sent it back. It clicked instantly. We made just a few small tweaks — but honestly, we both felt the first take was already something special.
It’s a style I hadn’t tried before. In a language that’s not my own. But it worked — because the connection was real.
Here it is: TimTmMusic x Mitxoda, with There Aren’t Alligators in Chicago, Right?
And from there, we keep rolling south — to Florida, with Midnight Kahuna and the psychedelic tension of Last Coke in the Desert.
Feeling the sun yet? Good. I opened the windows wide on this one. We needed rhythm. Movement. Fresh air.
We stop over in the UK with Dinky and the pulsing, vibrant Oxygen. Then it’s off to Portugal, where Mike Stollen reminds us to Soak Up the Sun.
Back to New Zealand for Danny Rascal and his track Kai Ti — full of punch and personality. And we close the rhythmic run in Poland, where Stefski & Hutch lead us gently Into an End.
I can’t fit every artist I love into 60 minutes. But don’t worry — there will be other chances. We’ve got time. We’ve got life. And music keeps expanding both.
We close this episode softly, with Jaelyn and her acoustic glow on Stars Out.
Until next Friday — be well, take care of those around you, and don’t forget to open your own windows wide from time to time.
