Épisode 11: A Roar of Indie Creation

Atmospheric. Haunting. Sensory. Introspective.Four words that captured the essence of this week’s Salon Indie de Mitxoda. As always, this isn’t just a playlist. It’s a space. A sonic refuge where the unheard gets heard, and the overlooked gets celebrated. These songs are not made for the algorithm. They’re made for you.We opened with the ambient pulse of Mitxoda’s Patience, followed by the deeply emotional “A Soul in Pain”, a brilliant collaboration between Rock The Wild and Gengvej, from the remix album Into Deep.

Then came melancholic postpunk from the Netherlands with Yes To All and their track She Can Win.

We were honored to premiere RedPrint’s brand-new track Stranglehold, a world premiere that brings seven minutes of explosive, progressive bluesy power rock.

From North Carolina, we welcomed Pageant and their infectious new single Your Name, a bluesy, tongue-in-cheek take on toxic love. Produced by Brian Craddock (Daughtry) and mastered by Grammy-winner Brad Blackwood, this song hits hard with dirty guitars, dramatic solos, and windows-down energy.

We then returned to familiar names:

  • Behind the Beach House – Number 8
  • Streetside Philosophy – Avocado
  • Moyno – The Fall of Saigon (feat. Olya)

A quick story: “The Fall of Saigon” is a metaphor for emotional collapse. Olya, a Ukrainian singer from Lviv near the Polish border, has been collaborating with Moyno for three years, without ever meeting in person. She receives instrumentals, records six vocal layers, and sends them back. Music has no borders.

Then came a trip around the world:

  • Torture Colombe – Bizarre
  • Have I Weather – Porch Blues
  • Lien – We Can’t Say Goodbye
  • Liz Arcane – West of the Moon

On Facebook, Drew Nold recently posted a moving tribute to the indie community, a place where people across the world help each other, share advice, and support fellow creators. That’s what this show is too. A peaceful space of curiosity, listening, and respect.

We ended with a few final gems:

  • Sargas – Birth (instrumental)
  • Reina Liabla, J&M Band, Mariana Cherry – Tiempo
  • Theo MN – Have We Lost Our Mind
  • Yannick Charest – Fou (solo project from Torture Colombe’s singer)

Applaud creation. Keep screaming your freedom. Again and again.

See you next week.
