Episode 62: Summer Begins

Summer has finally arrived, and this episode naturally followed its rhythm.

I opened the doors of the Salon with a collection of calm, atmospheric instrumentals. Sometimes the best way to start a journey is simply to slow down. Among those beautiful moments was a brand-new track from my Mexican friends Sonophagen, always a genuine pleasure to welcome their music into the Salon.

Outside the studio, there was football to celebrate too. Belgium’s Red Devils secured their place in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, where they’ll now face the United States. Congratulations to the team, and good luck for the next chapter!

As always, the Salon also became a place for sharing life’s happy moments. A special congratulations goes to Chris, better known to many as Dukester, who will be getting married in just 70 days. Wishing you both a wonderful journey together.

This week also brought another first: I had the pleasure of introducing my very first band from Argentina. One more country joining our ever-growing musical family. Every week the map becomes a little bigger, proving once again that independent music knows no borders. You can find them all on https://mitxoda.be/artists/ !

To close the show, I played my own track, Digital Detox. It felt like the right ending for the beginning of summer, stepping away from screens, algorithms and endless notifications can sometimes be the healthiest thing we do.

The sounds will be back next week, most likely in an instrumental or no-voice version, but don’t worry…

The Salon remains open.

See you next week.
