Episode 61: Heat, Harmony and Happy Accidents

The heat refused to leave Brussels. If anything, it decided to turn the dial up even further. Yet once again, the music proved stronger than the temperature.

This week’s journey through the Indie Salon brought an abundance of fresh discoveries, brand-new releases, and those rare songs that deserve their very first moment on the radio. Alongside them came a handful of timeless tracks, songs from another era that quietly remind us why music never really ages. Sometimes, one classic is all it takes to completely change the atmosphere.

One of the highlights of the evening was an unusually long acoustic sequence. No rush. No walls of sound. Just honest instruments, voices, space, and emotion. A welcome pause in a world that often moves far too quickly.

And of course… some traditions never change.

Just as the show found its rhythm, my internet connection decided it had artistic ambitions of its own. A few unexpected interruptions, a little improvisation, and somehow we all made it through together. Live radio has a wonderful habit of reminding us that perfection is far less interesting than authenticity.

Thank you for spending another hour inside the Salon. Whether you came for the premieres, the forgotten gems, the acoustic intimacy, or simply to escape the heat for a while, I’m grateful you were here.
