Episode 50: A Quiet Celebration That Became a Journey

Fifty.

Not a number to chase, not a milestone to display like a trophy on a digital shelf, but a rhythm, a pulse, a fragile consistency built week after week, somewhere between intention and instinct, between Brussels and the rest of the world.

Fifty times sitting down, pressing play, and letting something happen.

Dear indie friends,

This one felt different.

Not louder, not bigger, not more spectacular… just deeper. Like something had settled in the room. Like the Salon itself had learned how to breathe.

Because fifty weeks in a row is not about performance. It’s about presence.

It’s about choosing, again and again, to believe that somewhere out there, a voice deserves to be heard. That a song carries more than sound. That indie is not a genre, but a space where honesty still has a place to land.

It started gently, with Remont from Poland, opening the doors like an old friend who doesn’t need to say much. Just enough to let you step inside.

And then, without forcing anything, we kept walking.

The Santiago Kings came in like a memory you didn’t know you had, with Pro Patria Mori, followed by Craig Lappin letting something heavier rise with The Anger is Rising. There was tension, there was release, there was that familiar edge where emotion becomes almost physical.

And then Theo MN asked the question we all carry somewhere: Have We Lost Our Mind?

Maybe we have.
Or maybe we just forgot how to listen.

When The Beautiful Revolution played I Wrote A Letter, something softened again. Some bands don’t just pass through the Salon. They stay. Quietly. Naturally. Like they always belonged here.

And somewhere in the middle of it all, I asked you to sit down.

Not just to listen. But to travel.

Because Episode 50 couldn’t just be a playlist.

It had to be a story.

Two years ago, there was no Mitxoda as you know it today. No site. No Weekly. No submissions. No Top100 slowly growing in its own direction. No Salon echoing every Friday afternoon.

Just a room.

An attic.
A few instruments.
A laptop.
And a silence that needed to be filled.

That’s where Prognosis was born.

Not as a project. Not as a strategy. But as a necessity.

Les Prémices du Désir — those first fragile attempts, when starting feels heavier than failing.
La Quête — moving forward anyway, even when the path doesn’t exist yet.
La Tentation — that strange pull, both exciting and terrifying, the moment you know you cannot go back.
La Chute — the fall, the voice of Caro carrying something deeper than words, something almost ritual, almost inevitable.
And then…
La Liberté. and then, La Nouvelle Aube.

Not perfect. Never perfect.

But real.

And maybe that’s all that matters.

For the first time, I let you hear it all. Not in fragments. Not as isolated tracks. But as a whole. As it was meant to be experienced. A full circle, imperfect, human, alive.

Two hours later, we were still there.

Still together.

Still listening.

And because endings matter as much as beginnings, I chose to close this 50th episode with something that stretches time itself, Beyond The Veil and their 13-minute piece Built On Sand. A reminder that indie doesn’t follow formats, doesn’t obey durations, doesn’t ask for permission.

It just exists.

Fifty episodes.

Fifty invitations.

Fifty moments where you chose to be here.

From Brussels, with all its contradictions, its beauty, its noise and its silence, I kept sending signals into this vast, unpredictable world. Not to be heard by everyone. Just to reach the right ears.

Maybe yours.

So wherever you are, however you arrived here…

Take this episode with you.

Let it sit somewhere between your thoughts and your heartbeat.

And if something resonated, even just for a second, then all of this was worth it.

See you next Friday.

Love.
