Episode 1: A Breath of Fresh Indie Air

On May 2nd, 2025, something quietly magical unfolded on the online radio waves of OTAT247. From the heart of Europe to listeners around the world, Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda aired its very first official episode — and with it, a tender hour of music, poetry, connection, and indie discoveries that you might not find anywhere else.

Broadcast in French but meant for curious ears everywhere, Le Salon Indie is a moment. A pause. A musical living room where spring blossoms in stereo, where stories are told between songs, and where each track feels hand-picked with care.

After a successful “Episode Zero” the week prior, I returned — relaxed, present, and eager to share new musical gems gathered over the past week. The vibe? Gentle, reflective, adventurous, and real. Let’s dive into the journey.

🌕 A Sonic Springtime in Bloom

The episode opens with an ethereal slow-burn from Aliénor. The Raven (7:48) is a progressive rock poem, as deep as it is expansive. It sets the tone perfectly — atmospheric, heartfelt, and full of intention.

From there, we move to Water Rise with A New Breath. A reflective piece by Arnaud Legrand that captures his journey from Paris to Nantes. It’s a sonic sigh of relief, a song about fresh starts and moving forward.

🔥 Where Sound Meets Story

Marla Fredonne takes us to June 2023, back to the edge of chaos in France — a time of riots and unrest. Their track Cours feels cinematic and urgent, evoking the adrenaline of escape and the fragility of love when the world is crumbling.

Then comes a beautiful surprise: No Rescue, a collaboration between Mitxoda and Mexican artist Sonophagen. This one carries a haunting didjeridou line and a lyrical vulnerability. It’s also the first time I sing in English — a bold, beautiful step into new territory.

Sonophagen is also behind an inspiring initiative to connect indie musicians across the globe through collaborative matchmaking.

🤖 Machines, Guns & Dreams

From Portland, Oregon, Psy-Lounge brings us The Machine Tells Me — a dystopian electro-poem that questions how much of our agency we’ve given to algorithms and automation. It’s rhythmic, hypnotic, and philosophical.

Then comes a wall of sound from Michigan’s Renegade Train, with Broken Reflections. Vocals, bass, guitars — everything roars with intention and unity. The band, based in the small village of Lansing, shows just how big indie can sound when heart meets harmony.

🖤 Words That Hit

SFSF, a Berlin-based artist, delivers Guns, a powerful, dark-rock ballad from her debut EP Manifest. Mixing French and English lyrics, she confronts violence with raw honesty and emotional depth. Her music is protest and poetry in one breath — and we’ll certainly be hearing more from her soon.

To close things out, Synthetic Blonde (Stefani Kleppe) whispers us toward the weekend with L.S.D. — a dreamlike farewell full of soft pulses, giggles, and illusions. A gentle reminder that life observes us… and sometimes, it laughs.

🎧 Final Notes & Echoes
The final tracks? Two gifts from me — Desertland and Echo Plastique. They feel like memories written in sound, tying together the episode’s themes of change, freedom, risk, and reflection.

I hope this episode brought more pleasure to your ears than trouble to my microphone.
