New on Supercollector: Echo Plastique by Mitxoda

Echo Plastique, your “musical poem to the ocean,” is now available as a Supercollector item, a blockchain-powered musical experience where beauty meets innovation. It’s more than a song; it is now a digital statement. Listen, collect, and join the future of music.

What is Supercollector?

Supercollector is a Web3 music platform created by indie artist Tom Vek, designed as a next-gen alternative to Bandcamp. It lets artists sell songs as digital objects on the blockchain with real ownership, transparent royalties, and no speculative nonsense.

I actually discovered Supercollector thanks to Andy Smith, during an interview we did together. I found the concept fascinating and fun to explore, so I decided to give it a try with my very first track.

  • Each track is minted as an ERC-1155 token (usually on Optimism, a fast & low-fee Ethereum Layer 2).
  • Music is stored using IPFS, a decentralized storage system.
  • No artificial scarcity: the edition is unlimited, but every fan who pays becomes a verified collector.
  • Fixed price: usually $10 in ETH, showing commitment rather than chasing hype.
  • Artists keep most of the income, with only 10% in total fees (vs 15% on Bandcamp).

How Echo Plastique works on Supercollector

This release is my first on-chain music drop. Here’s what happens when you collect it:

  1. You connect a wallet (like MetaMask) or just use your email.
  2. You pay the set price, in crypto or by card.
  3. You receive a unique collector’s certificate, forever tied to your wallet.
  4. You get access to the full track, and may receive future perks (exclusive tracks, stories, chat, etc.).
  5. Your support is recorded, not just financially, but on the blockchain.

This is not a speculative NFT, it’s a statement of support, a verifiable connection between artist and listener.

Why Echo Plastique belongs on the blockchain

This song is a delicate yet confronting journey into the fragility of our oceans and the plastic we leave behind. It made perfect sense to launch it through Supercollector, because:

  • It’s a song about impact, now embedded in a technology of permanence.
  • Blockchain offers transparent, fair revenue for artists, no middlemen.
  • You become a verified part of the story.
  • It’s a conscious rejection of the speculative NFT market, focusing on authentic fan engagement.

How to listen & collect

  1. Visit Echo Plastique on Supercollector
  2. Connect your wallet or log in via email
  3. Pay, collect and unlock the track
  4. Get full access + your blockchain certificate
  5. Enjoy, share, and follow the journey

Final thoughts

Echo Plastique is now an object of sound and memory, a modern relic engraved in code and care. In a time when the ocean suffocates in silence, this song speaks, and now, it lives on-chain.

Welcome to the new frontier of independent music.
