Le Salon indie de Mitxoda, Episode 17: August 22, 2025
Holidays have a way of reshaping our rhythms. Away from the endless carousel of metro-work-sleep, we rediscover little details that often slip through the cracks: a kind look, a thank you given without agenda, a moment of human kindness. That same atmosphere fills the Salon today, an hour-long journey where every sound feels like a pause, a rediscovery, a small treasure offered freely.
Just before retreating into my own holiday break, I stumbled across Nebraska Stone on Instagram. With her track Not all the Witches have a Broom, she delivers a tender and delicate voice that immediately captivated me. Born in Argentina, now an Italian citizen, and living in Nebraska since 2022, her heart is divided in three equal parts, three countries shaping the artist and the person she has become.
That spirit of in-between, of transition, also resonates in this episode. Some tracks breathe calm and fragility, others strike with intensity and weight. The idea remains the same: in this Salon, everyone has a place. So take your seat, and let’s redecorate the room for an hour with the sounds of indie musicians from around the world.
From Marla Fredonne’s fearless delivery to Liz Arcane’s haunting Hollow, from the evocative landscapes of Streetside Philosophy and Mitxoda’s own instrumental Darkness to the poetic textures of Ghost of Rucker, each piece carries its own shade. The journey continues with The Sanctity of Crows, Histheory, and The Darren Holland Project, flowing naturally toward the dreamy soundscapes of The Modern Clouds.
The episode also takes us westward, Linda Purrs moved from Nashville to California, bringing with her a playful twist with Slowpoke, Cowpoke from Lompoc. Jo Wilburn follows, leading us gently toward the show’s powerful conclusion. And what a finale: first, Nadine de Macedo, never afraid to blur genres, teaming up with Daniel Hiatt for the explosive Into the Abyss. Then, The Obsidian Resurrection closes the circle with Unholy Retribution, a monumental track that demands patience and rewards it deeply.
This is what the Salon indie de Mitxoda is about: a shared space of discovery, an invitation to listen with intention. Thank you for joining me, even during holidays, and for all the small gestures that keep this community alive. Until next week, enjoy the replay and keep the indie spirit alive.
