Épisode 3 : Create or Vanish

What if silence was a kind of defeat?
What if not speaking up, not creating, not releasing what’s inside us — meant losing a piece of who we are?

There’s a new kind of threat out there, and no, it’s not loud. It’s subtle. Bureaucratic. Algorithmic.
When streaming platforms demand 1000 plays in 12 months to acknowledge an artist’s work with even a cent, we are told, in not so many words: “Either go viral, or disappear.”

But what if we don’t want virality? What if we want intimacy?
To touch hearts, not numbers?

Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda is still here for that. For you. For us.

We begin today with Patience — a recurring state in our journey. Mine. Maybe yours too.
Then Joo Baldi’s Sin Recuerdos reminded us that music isn’t just expression — it’s survival. His track disappeared from Spotify for months due to the dreaded and mysterious “fake streams” policy. It’s finally back. But we’ve all lost something to that void.

My own Christmas track vanished that way. A small song that meant a lot to me. To some of you too. Gone — no warning, no logic.

And yet, we go on. Because stopping would be worse.

🎧 This week’s journey

We travelled the Netherlands with RedPrint, live and wild, their energy intact.
We entered Germany’s indie underworld with To Die in Beauty and the powerful Follow the Echo — a track featured in this week’s Weekly Mitxoda newsletter (don’t miss it!).

We lingered in sound and softness with Morino, tasted electropop rebellion from Belgium via The Electrozixx, and danced to the EDM thrill of Michael Gabriel.

We discovered Regifter — and yes, you heard it here first. Their track Done had its world premiere on Le Salon Indie today. Croatia is speaking, are you listening?

And then a shift. Crayon Tabibito transported us to Thailand with a heartbreak rhythm, while I brought you Seconde Vie, a track I wrote in rough waters. It’s about the right to a reset. A second breath. A second self.

We closed with two artists from Scotland that never fail me: Crowsilver and The Sanctity of Crows. Old friends. New meaning.

💭 Final thoughts

To create is to resist. To resist is to live.
So keep making things. Even when the platforms ignore you. Even when the rules make no sense. Even when the world feels too fast to notice you.

You’re not forgotten here.
You’re part of the Salon now.

Until next week —
Stay strange. Stay loud. Stay indie.
