Life is unpredictable. One moment, you’re on a steady path, and the next, everything shifts beneath your feet. Shattered Dreams emerged from that very space—born from moments of uncertainty, introspection, and the bittersweet realization that not all dreams are meant to last.
A key part of this song’s essence comes from the incredible lyrics written by Kym Holcomb. She sent me these lyrics, and I built the music around them without altering a single word. It was an inspiring challenge to create a composition that could truly honor her words, and I sing them with real pleasure, feeling every emotion she poured into them.
Musically, this track blends melancholic melodies with a deep, pulsing rhythm, reflecting both the pain of loss and the determination to move on. The instrumental layers build up like fragments of a dream piecing themselves together, only to dissolve again, a cycle that mirrors the emotions tied to shattered expectations.
