Episode 52: One Year Ago

One year. No breaks. No shortcuts. Every Friday, a door opens somewhere in Brussels… and suddenly, the world walks in. Not as noise, not as competition, but as fragments of truth carried through sound. From Australia to Iran, from Thailand to France, from Egypt to Belgium, from the United States to Latin America, from Canada to places we don’t even name enough… nothing escapes this quiet constellation we’ve built together.

Welcome to the 52nd episode of Le Salon Indie de Mitxoda.

It begins the way all meaningful journeys do… almost gently. When Stars Collide by Birds Are Better doesn’t just open the show, it aligns something invisible. A frequency, maybe. A reminder that music doesn’t need permission to exis, it simply finds its way to us. Then comes a familiar warmth, a Brussels heartbeat with The Siffredis and their Carousel, spinning stories that feel both local and universal at once.

We drift further. JoDan Music takes us back to open roads with Midnight Highway, that kind of track that doesn’t rush you anywhere, but still moves you deeply. The Bateleurs follow with Best Of Days, and there’s something in that voice… something that echoes the soul of Deedra Patrick, as if time folds gently on itself.

And then… a moment I couldn’t avoid. Étoiles d’Asphalte. My second single. A memory more than a track now. A bridge to those nights with OTAT247, with Dave and Lisa guiding us through endless discoveries, somewhere between midnight and something timeless. That’s also where voices like Mike Stollen emerge, this time with Ana, a song carried by family, by closeness, by something real.

Then the energy shifts.

Crimson Day, From Sheep To Wolves, Major Business… the pulse accelerates. The Salon breathes differently now. Not louder, but sharper. As if every track insists on being felt rather than heard.

And suddenly, we are many.

Maximum Robot, The Beautiful Revolution, J&M Band, Alex Sitze… they’re all here, not as guests, but as part of something that no longer belongs to one person. It never did. This anniversary doesn’t celebrate a show. It celebrates a movement without a name, a fragile but persistent network of artists who keep creating even when no one is watching.

So yes… let’s raise the volume.

Not to escape. But to feel more.

Nikola Zenko brings light back with Bring Me Back the Sun. And then, unmistakable, unapologetic, aliv, Kathleen Turner Overdrive steps in with I Want To Believe. A title that says everything. Because believing, today, might be the most radical act left.

From there, the journey refuses to settle. Richie Cross, Doomnezeu, Suede Aces, Seems Like Tuesday… each one adds a layer, a contradiction, a nuance. World5 reminds us that time stretches far beyond trends, while The Major Resolve and The Graves Brothers pull us into deeper, more introspective spaces.

And then comes 700 Marines by Deedra Patrick. Not just a song… a presence. A voice that doesn’t ask for attention, but earns it.

By the time The Sanctity Of Crows, Beyond The Veil, and others close the circle, something has shifted. Quietly. Irreversibly.

April 2026 has been generous. But this… this goes beyond releases. Beyond genres. Beyond expectations.

Because this Salon… has never been about me.

It’s about you.

Your messages. Your trust. Your courage to share something unfinished, imperfect, alive. Your willingness to listen, not just to music, but to each other.

One year in… and somehow, it feels like we’re only just beginning.

Stay close.
