So… What’s Le Défi Compo?
It’s a fun monthly event where everyone is invited to compose a track based on shared themes. Think of it as a musical jam session with a twist, you get a prompt, make a track, then listen together.
No competition, no pressure, just pure indie energy and the joy of creating together.
How It Works (And How You Can Join)
- Discussions are in French, quite important to know 🙂
- Every 3rd Friday at 21h (CET), the LZMP Discord lights up with inspiration.
- Join via Discord or Zoom to hear the two monthly themes.
Past examples: “Resurrect an old track”, “Use this drum loop”, “Try blues”, “Stick to 3 chords”… - Compose your track, long or short, rough or polished. Just make it authentically yours.
- Upload it to SoundCloud (public or private) and share the link in the défi-compo Discord channel.
- Join the live listening session: everyone listens together, then hops in for friendly discussion and feedback.It’s like a cozy indie café, but online and packed with gearheads, composers, and dreamers.
Why It’s So Special
- All tracks are added to the official Défi Compo SoundCloud playlist.
- You earn 500 XP in their Discord server, helping you gain visibility and perks, and the overlords decide for the next interview.
- You get a chance to become Artist of the Month, with a featured interview – this monthly artist is chosen by the LZMP artists, each month, via the TOP 5 Spotify!
- Above all: it’s a space where musicians truly listen to each other’s work, share techniques, and grow together.
